 Climate change

Climate change is a phenomenon that has been going on for hundreds or rather thousands or millions of years and will continue to exist because our earth is a dynamic system. The problems of climate change that is part of a global change translate into a climate crisis, one that affects humans and society, specifically and contrary to what many think, is not an alarm for the planet, but for our species and ecosystem.

Climate change refers to long-term changes in temperatures and weather patterns. These changes may be natural, but since the 19th century, human activities have been the main driver of climate change, mainly due to the burning of fossil fuels such as coal, oil and gas. The burning of fossil fuels generates greenhouse gas emissions that act like a blanket around the Earth, trapping the sun's heat and raising temperatures. 

Climate change can affect our health, the ability to grow food, housing, safety and work. Some of us are already more vulnerable to climate impacts, such as people living in small island nations and other developing countries.

Solutions: 

Currently there are several organizations that help against global warming, both governmental and non-profit, but not only they can make a change, it would be foolish to say that we will end a problem from thousands of years ago, but if the problem can be reduced with some of our actions, such as:

  • Save energy at home.
  • Get around on foot, by bike or by public transport.
  • No food resources are wasted.
  • Choose organic products.
  • Consume less, reuse, repair and recycle.



Everyone needs to take action on climate, but the people and countries that create the most problems have a greater responsibility to act first.
